I did the same as well, netting holds my old ipod, works perfectly. I was going to use the extension cable (5') that Crutchfield supplies but the Alpine cable is the perfect length. Installed the Modifry DCI PNP w/ SCV and it couldn't have been simpler.

i just ordered a cda 105 and i plan on getting the modifry dci,pnp.
did you feel like upgading the speakers was well worth it?

Danny,
I haven't upgraded my door speakers but did install Modifry's upgraded roll hoop speakers (as well as the dci & pnp). These were a "sound" investment and I highly recommend them with a new HU. Listen to the stock ones up close and you'll realize that they do more harm then good. Door speakers are next since the new Alpine has me pushing the volume.
