I should be installing the HAT Imagine's, Alpine Power Pack, and Damplifier Pro this weekend. These stock speakers are useless!
Nice. I installed polk db6501s a couple months back, but I'm already itching for the HATs. Good to know that they'll be EQ presets waiting for me when I upgrade

Anyone know if/when this will be at Best Buy? I have a $240 gift card from selling back a phone and I want this to replace my aging CDA-9885.

Nice. Have you used the new TuneIt app with it? Alpine released it for these newest head units and it will let you share eq settings and import them from other people with the same car and gear setup. About a dozen s2ks are listed in the app so far, but no ones sharing any settings yet, probably because the compatible head units are only just now shipping.

Do you know the order of how to install the power pack wi the modifry harness? Are you using the universal one that can be bridged?

I had my mic mounted at the top of the A pillar, using the provided clip, one end goes behind the A pillar at the top and this way the mic faces you. Haven't tried it with the top down yet.

Yep- they are only making the universal version right now. But I figured it'd be better in case I wanted to move it to a different car in the future.

The power pack manual can be found here. There are details on how to wire it.
http://support.alpine-usa.com/produc...M_KTP-445U.pdf

You just need to run one set of RCA's (fronts,) power, ground, remote, and the 4 speaker wires (bridged.)

Then wire in the five required DCI wires to this harness and you're done!

They announced the KTP-445A at CES that makes it PnP with Alpine headunits again. The vendor I spoke with just started getting them in stock. KTP-445U is the universal one.

FWIW, the KTP-445A likely is bridgeable, as it is listed as being 2-ohm stable (a prerequisite
for bridgeability) unlike the original KTP-445. However, as it comes with a plug&play 4-channel harness
for Alpine, it isn't wired for bridging. It might be nice if they included two harnesses, one bridged,
but it's easy enough to just use the KTP-445U, or you could cut & splice the 445A harness.

Right... Crutchfield shows the A shipping 5/10.

The U has a switch on the side of it to select between 4-channel and 2-channel input mode. I wonder if the A will have this switch.....

Since I'm planning on running new speaker wires to the doors as well as a direct 12ga wire to the battery, I don't really see the advantage of the A, even though I'm using an Alpine HU... the only wires I need to run to the HU are RCAs and remote.

If you're going to do all of that, I guess I don't see the point of using the Power Pack. Why not just a regular amp?
