What are your goals with this build? Best sound quality you can get? Or something that's still respectably high sound quality, but really is just loud?

Ok, so...I couldn't even make it 15 mins on the Best Buy website without wanting to puke...

The stuff there is garbage. And I mean GARBAGE. One clue is:

When a speaker set is touted as having 330W Peak Power rating, but RMS is only 110W...

I have a sub that's 1000W peak power capable...but only RMS capable of 300W. That sub will take 1000W..but not for long. It's all marketing hype to get you to buy this "1000W sub" that's really only 300W... And then you get all kinds of ricer kids touting their "3000W system" that really only puts down 500W.

/rant

Whatever you spent at Best Buy...take their crap back. Pick up the best Pioneer or Eclipse HU you can for what you spent. Everything else there isn't worth your $$$. If you can't get your money back, spend the rest of the $$$ on a gift card for your girl for xmas.

Continuing on with building a real system
