I’ve gone ahead and bought this 8.8inch screen for the UK. Their website isn’t amazing in explaining, there are 3 options which all look and seem identical apart from where they are shipped from, EU warehouse costing 35 euro more. Either way, it’s bought now, no idea on how long it will take. Also added the OBD adaptor for some useful engine info whilst driving.

For the harness adaptor, what have you used to make it fit? I was just going to simply eBay something to suit.

My Christmas goal for this will be the headunit, magnetic mounts, floor/door sound deadening and an under seat sub with the standard speakers for now. The standard speakers don’t seem too bad if I’m honest but could do with more low end so that’s a priority. I will upgrade the speakers and add an amp for them if it needs more. But really the car needs a quieter exhaust before that happens!

Update as I am installing: NOPE! This harness does not include PIN 3 (dash control) or PIN 14 (mute, which apparently doesn't work anyway). How can Metra sell a dash remote adapter and a harness that is missing the requires pins? Ridiculous. Going to see if I can remove some of the unused pins to switch them over.

Got my 8" unit installed today. Works great except:

1. The metal sleeve for the stereo attaches very flimsily to the dash. The top of the dash compartment is a thin flimsy piece of plastic and the metal tabs on the bracket don't hold. Anyone have any ideas?

2. I used an ASWC1 for the steering wheel controls but it's not working. The LED is solid red which it says means it found the stereo. But the Joying control screen just says "NULL" for every control.

Did you connect those key wires on the back of the head unit? They dont come preconnected. Try connecting them then messing with the dash buttons, youll see the numbers fluctuate on the "Control" application. One is a female the other is a male they both say Key 1, key2, or something, canport... I dont remember. The manual says it.

As for the dash being flimsy, maybe you can reinforce the back of it with something more durable.

Yep, I connected Key 1 and Key 2 to the ASXC-1.

I have to call them today.

One other thing--the Joying gets mediocre FM reception, and no AM at all. Zero. I just sent them an email about it.

Anyone else have this issue?

The s2000 stub antenna is amplified, driven off the "power antenna" lead from the headunit.
Your symptoms are exactly what you get if it's not powered.
Does the Joying have such a lead, and is it hooked up to the adapter harness blue wire?

No, what I mean is that there is a female wire and a male wire in the back of your head unit that need to connected together for the ASWC to work properly (KEY AND CAN OUT). They do not come pre-connected. The ASWC wont work until you do this.

>If you buy Joying universal head unit with ISO harness or other special head unit without Can-bus decoder, please connect "KEY" and "CAN OUT" cable together like attached picture, then connect your car SWC cables with Joying SWC cables, you can set and use SWC buttons.
