I just got the DCI control for my Alpine 9857 and I can't get the playlist to change. I can get the songs to change with Mode+Vol. up, but I can't change the playlist (Ipod). I tried Ch+Vol. Up, but nothing happens. Did I install the DCI wrong?

The only time the CH+Vol. up works to change the Playlist (Ipod) is if I set the stereo by going to the playlist first, then the Dash controls starts to work properly. I hope what i'm saying makes sense.

How do I change the playlist on the dash control for the IPOD?.

I tried PM Modifry but I got this message-"This message can not be sent because the recipient does not have permission to use the personal messenger.

This personal message has not been sent"

 

Um, I don't think you can. Unless Modifry added some new features I'm not aware of, the DCI basically just scrolls through what is selected on the HU and cannot conrol an external device. Once you select a playlist, you can use the DCI to scroll through it, but the functionality you want just isn't there.

I set the playlist on the ipod before I hook it up or on the HU after its hooked up, and then use the DCI to scroll.

But it's wierd because once I set the stereo to go to the certain playlist I selected, the Ch+Volume up works to change the playlist. (But everything resets after I turn off the radio)
Also I think Modifry Changes his DCI to add new features, I have the newest one (I think).

Modifry's DCI controls buttons, not specific tasks, so whatever those buttons do on a specific screen, you can control that with the DCI. They just happened to be labeled things like volume, but if the button serves a purpose on any other menu besides volume, The DCI will perform that action.

But for those that want to control the playlist on your Dash control, you need to do it on the stereo 1 time first before you can change it with the Ch+Volume. -(Because it sucks being stuck with only one playlist on your Ipod)
