Default Any Idea what could cause this?

I hav a Sony CDX M880 head unit. I have has it for about 3 years now. The head unit flips down and lights up but none of the buttons work on the head unit. They all light up, but none of them work. I am able to use the remote controle, but I cant eject the cd from the player. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks for any input.

Do the button work if you jiggle the face plate while connected?

Thanks Guys. I checked the ribbon and as looked closer I could see it was worn and there was a slight tear in it. As I played around with it I accidentally ripped it from the unit. Oh well I guess it's time for a new head unit.....
