anybody have JL W7
does anybody have a jl audio w7 sub in there car? 10" or 12" if so how do you like how much power are you pushing? also what amp? i am about to buy a 12" w7 and started thinking that since tehy need a lot of air maybe the 10 would be better. i was going to use the jl audio 1000/1 amp.
i replied to your wanted ad with my opinion but i'll restate it here. basically the W7 is a great sub but there are much better subs for our car. The W7 is so deep and requires so much airspace that a suitable box will leave you with almost no usable trunk space. There are a few internet-direct manufacturers that make subs as good, if not better than the W7. I chose the EVO-R because it sounds as good as anything on the market, can handle the 1200 watts i'll be throwing at it, is fairly shallow (under 7") and can work well in a 1.1 cube sealed box. I have heard and played around with most of the subs on the market so if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

I did the same thing, mounted two 10's in a fiberbox built into the well. Really twin W7's is overkill for the S, two 10's more directed toward sound quality will sound a lot better in my opinion, plus it will be cheaper.
Steve,
Do you think the EVO-R would be a good replacement for the JL W6 ?
The W6 come with the JL Audio steahlbox and I am not very impressed with the performance.
I like to replace the speaker (and keep the box) with a more powerful sub but I know fitmend is the issue.
