AP2 headlight ignitor without ground?
Hey guys,
So i'm rebuilding an s2k, and i'm redoing the headlights to AP2.. I know the ap1 ballasts had an ignitor cable that plugged in with a corresponding ground wire of sorts to the bulb, now when i was putting together the ap2 ballast and the ignitor cable, i realized there is no ground cable to plug into the ground terminals at the bulbs ground prongs... what gives.. why are their prongs if they aren't to be used?? or do i have the wrong ignitor cables??? was their a change from the AP1 to AP2's in the need of this grounding cable???
any help would most appreciated!!..
Thanks guys!!

you are correct that the ap1 does have a ground. I have never personally seen the ap2 ignitors, but if there is no ground coming from the ballast i would assume you dont need it.
Ive done many retro's and i know that a lot of ballasts do not have a seperate ground like the ap1 ballasts. All of the denso ballasts used in lexus do not have a seperate ground and operate without it. Just plug in the ignitor and see if the bulb ignites.
