Default AP2 Headuint istall problem....advice please

I installed a Kenwood KIV-BT900 headunit last night and am having a couple issues. I took the brackets off the OEM headunit and put them onto the Kenwood. Was this correct? When sliding the Kenwood into place, it was having a really hard time going all the way in, like the last quarter inch. It felt like it was pushing up against a wiring harness or something. I tried several times to adjust it, to no avail. I used to screws to sinch it down just so I could get the car back together and fix it when I do my speaker install in a few weeks. Everything fit fine going back together except one part, I can't get the stereo cover to fit flsuh right where the airbag light is. Is there a techinique for getting this piece back in right?

there is not much room behind the stereo for the wiring, youll need to play aroud with the wiring in order to get the radio all the way in, had to finagle mine to get it all the way in too.

Not really. Just connect the light if you disconnected it and push it in until it snaps into place. Make sure you have it lined up properly.

I had a hell of a time getting my new headunit in, using the OEM brackets like you did. I had a ton if wires coming out of the back - three sets of RCA's, IP-BUS cable, USB cable, wires for the Modifry DCI, plus the normal power wires. It took me probably an hour to get the thing in...what I had to do was get the deck started in a little, then reach back behind it on each side (remove those weird three-pointed knee guards) and pull all the wires I could find taught...then slide it in a little, pull the slack out of the wires, and repeat. It took a few tries, and now most of the wiring is below that plastic piece that's behind the head unit, but the head unit itself fits perfectly.

Just be sure to test all your functionality before you button things back up, in case you've loosened any wires in the process. I put electrical tape on my RCA, USB, and antenna wires too, to make sure they stay together.
