just wondering if anyone has completly removed the audio controls from there car after replacing the headunit with aftermarket radio? something cool that doesnt eliminate the start button and adds like an air fuel gauge or stainless finish. if you have pics please post , and info on how you made it or where you bought it?? im not so interested in keeping control for the audio .. thanks
With options like this you may consider keeping those controls around. Cool idea though taking them out. I am also curious if it looks clean without them. The push-start button would look quite lonely tho..........
Don't know of anything myself, but I love my modifry dci. My head unit mute is worthless, and I use mute all the time, so that feature in and of itself makes the DCI worth it to me...and its nice to have the dash controls all work.
I think he made it clear in his post that he is not interested in keeping the audio controls.
I had put a gauge and arming switch for the nitrous on my first s2000. After this pic was taken, I had also removed the buttons for mute and CH and put small toggle switches in there for the bottle warmer and opener.
You will have to gut or remove the entire circuit board behind the face to do anything with it.
Another idea would be to make an aluminum sheet to cover the piece and then mount whatever you want instead of being stuck with the holes they give you. Or you can fiberglass a brand new one altogether. You are only limited by your imagination.
