Audio Interrupt In?
Im going to instal an alpine HU into a boat and Im trying to put some sort of mute or volume control on the driver side (HU goes on passenger side).
The head unit has a audio interrupt in lead, which Im guessing is like a mute control? Im wondering what I would need to wire up a button to send the right signal to the head unit to mute it.
Thanks.

As with all things 12VDC, you need a switch that will either ground the interrupt wire or send it +12VDC.
My guess is ground. So I would wire a switch inline from your interrupt wire to a good ground. If that doesn't work, hook the wire up to a 12V source. (The ground is 1. Safer, 2. Easier to try, and 3. the most likely solution.)

From my SWI-X instruction book
So yeah... it's most likely a negative input. The S2000 switches power to a relay which grounds the audio interrupt lead.
S2000: On Acura/Honda20 plug, connect pin# 3 to the white wire of the SWI-X. The mute button supplies 12v on a yel/blu wire in pin#14 and latches on and off. Do not connect this to the SWI-X. If the aftermarket stereo has a "mute" input, use a relay to invert the yel/blu wire to a negative output and connect to the mute input of the stereo. If the mode button on the dash does not work properly, connect a 3.6k to 4k ohm resistor across the white end black wire of the SWI-X and re-program.
