Autometer Gauge Lights Wired Into Dash Lights?
Can I wire my Autometer (2) gauge lights( incandescent not LED) into my dash lights so they dim with the dash cluster? I'm using the lights power extra spade terminal on the interior fuse panel and the gauge lights come on with the headlight light switch but do not dim with the gauge lights. If so which fuse do I tap into.I have an 06'.

yes, you need to hook it up to the dimer, there's not a set fuse you can tap into as those read 12v all the time. The way a dimmer works is with a potentiometer, which adjusts voltage going to the lights making them brighter or dimmer. Either get a potentiometer to adjust your lights, or tie them into the dimmer.

Thanks,I found out that you can wire into the dimmer by using the re/blk wire for the hot (white wire) of the guage lights and the red wire of the cruise dash light for the return (or black wire) of the light off the cruise control on/off button on the dash.Only drag is you have to drop the steering wheel column and pull off the dash trim to get to it.There must be an easier way?

technically there is, you can catch the dimmer wire behind the radio since the radio dims with the cluster as well.

no sorry, the potentiometer is high up in the cluster making it about as easy to get to as it is the actual switch behind the cluster. It's easy to pull the radio though and just run a wire.
