best Alarm...
an alarm is only as good as the install
make sure the shop does a good job of hiding things. The really good ones will use all black wires for the alarm, so that thieves can't tell which wire is which when the try to look for which wire to cut.

Bah, none of them do a damn thing. Cars like the s2000 are valuable in one piece. They are usually towed away, and NO one pays attention to a screaming car on a flatbed..including every member in this thread. Just don't park it where it shouldn't be.
plus a good theif will just unhook the battery the shut off the alarm, and if you have a back up battery they'll just touch the power wire from the battery to ground and it'll blow the fuse on the backup battery :-)
Before I had my electronics installed and all my toys, I left the car parked unlocked. I tell everyone with a stock s2000 to just leave it parked unlocked. If someone does break in, it saves you $2500 for the top replacement. It's not like it's hard to get into an s2000.

i am going to put an alarm with no siren on it but with a paging remote with a 1 mile range.
I feel bad for the sucker who breaks into my s2000 and gets greeted to the knees with a baseball bat as his ass and legs are hanging out the hole in my soft top.
It'll make it worth my s2000 getting broken into just so i can catch him doing it.
