Dave is correct. Get a new HU first.

Did everyone notice Dave recommending Soundstream again... Dave your such a J/K pal I'd swear your trying to get a sponsor gig with them or some free equipment...<not that there is anything wrong with that

Not really. There are a ton of manufacturers that I would recommend to people but.....

S2000 is a stupid rattle box that makes more noise than Paris Hilton milking cows....

So for the money, there really is no point. The soundstream amps are fantastic, put out their rated power, and CHEAP. I mean some of these amps that do 110x2 @ 4ohms are 129 bucks!!! Can you go wrong???

Sadly I stopped looking for sponsors a looooooong time ago :sigh:

It just takes waaaaaaayyyy too much time and money, and In the end, all you get is to be under the manufacturer's booth at the show and a Tshirt.

Yup very true...

I actually had a sponsor offer me a 50% paid sponsorship last spring with a cap of $10,000 but I walked away from it. I had to buy all my stuff from them and I had to allow them like 20 days to get the parts if they were out of stock. I was like what about if I see a part online for a good price and they were like nope you have to buy all your parts from us... I was like yeah ummm... ok... take a hike pal.
Nobody is going to tell me where and when I can buy stuff for my car.

You gotta pay to play, Get a HU first and do it a piece at a time....

I just decided to get all mine at once

Alpine 9813 $399
Polk MOMO MM6 6 3/4 commponents $300
Polk MOMO MM525 5 1/4 coaxials with crossover $150
gotta install these still. (s pods or something like it)
Kenwood Amp.. already had,
getting the MOMO 4channel $4-600
When i get that, ill probably use the kenwood to push a MOMO 10.

I was just gonna run the speakers off the stock headunit and a RCA converter, but its just not good sound quality. Its tough with a convertible, i wanted my vocals to be high and the MOMO series provides really good bass for small speakers.

I go to school and sell car audio at circuit city, everyone wants to sound good, but sometimes you ahve to be patient. Ballers on a budget always end up getting stuff that sounds like crap.

dont buy decent speakers you arnt going to be satisfied with unless you plan on getting a deck later. If you do, dont buy speakers that need to be amped unless you want to amp them also.

Id recommend the Alpine type S speakers, they are decent bass and they sound good off an amp or just the cd player. If you want to add a little amp, go with the polk or the infinity.

Just plan your system, dont just jump in to it and end up unhappy. You wont get good bass and sound quality if you arnt willing to spend the money on it. You just ahve to decide if its worht it to you.

Can anyone give feedback on how good the Infinity 6000CS components are? I've finally broken down and will do a complete overhaul, including headunit, sub, and amp. Was wondering how good these components are. They're almost 1/2 the price of the kappa perfects, so are the kappa perfects really 2x better?

Also, will these fit in the stock speaker panels on a MY00 car?

Thanks in advance.

the best advice i can give you regarding those speakers are -- find somewhere near you where you can listen to them...

no one can tell you which speaker will sound better but you.

Here's two cents:

They are good enough for rear fill, but if you are going for a true stereo with great sounding fronts, step up to the kappas or perfects.

That is, if your fronts are to be amped, definitely step up, IMO the CS series will disappoint you as a front soundstage. I have the CS series, but for rear fill only.
