Default Best Place To Surface or Flush Mount Tweeters

I'm installing component speakers in the front and need some advice about where to locate the the tweeters. I know the easiest place would be the doors, but I'm not sure if that would provide the best imaging.

Thats where I'm thinking of putting them, just flush mounthing them. Seems like the easiest place to mount them, except instaling them tonight was hapmered due to the need for Lucid door adapters.

Quocisflying, i was wondering the same thing
question is, on 00-01 models, it looks to me that we cant fit the tweeters "Flush" like on 02-04 models. Well i belive we can but it requires some work on the drivers side, as the factory tweeter location is in a concave area of the Lh door-panel. Let us know how you make out. I would like to place tweeters there like on 02-04 models but i dont know where else would be a good location for them

in the MY00 and MY01 cars, there isn't a factory tweeter location.

if you look at the Installs thread, you can see photos of my tweeter flush mount install.

i realize it lowers my soundstage a bit, but it provides me w/ good imaging and phasing. also, it keeps the tweeters out of the wind, so i find that i have less loss in the highs.

My dad had a MY00, and we put the tweeters and mids in the doors in the stock location. You just have to make a little bracket to hold the tweeter next to the mid. There is a lot more room back there than you'd think. This also keeps the sound stage in the same position.
I have a MY02 and I have DynAudio 7" woofers in my doors.

I have had BA pro's in the 2 and 3 way versions before and I would say these are similar. I'm not sure they are twice as good. There is that concept of diminishing returns though. The Z6's list for $1000 for a pair. Pretty steep. I am using a JL 300/4 - 2 channels for the fronts and 2 bridged for the sub - a JL 10W3V2D4. I am pleased with the sound. Probably overkill in such a noisy environment though.
