Default Boston G5/G2 Sub help

Hey I'm really hoping that Dark Knight can put in his .02, but everything will be more than helpful. I'm about to run what I believe is an Audiobahn A4002T 2 Channel Amp 400w to either a Boston G2 12" or I was thinking about a Boston G5 10". I'm looking for some bass that I can turn up when I want, but I'm not trying to blow the doors off. My primary question is: Will my audiobahn amp 400w to a 10" G5 be enough or will it sound better to a G2 12"? I was also looking at an alpine type-R 10" and alpine type-S 12". I'm wondering if I can get enough bass out of a 10". Give me some feedback when you can. Thanks in advance.

I feel like I get plenty of bass out of a 10" sub in an S2000. And I feed mine WAY less than 400 watts.

hmmm...yeah I'm in the process of buying a 10" G5 Boston. More feedback would be great though. Thanks

I got a G5 10" with a Hifonics Titan 8800 amp. The rear 2 channels are bridged at 440wrms. It hits HAAARD. Great sub for the S as it only needs .50 CF to operate, but the mounting depth is still too deep for a WLAURENT V2 style enclosure. You would need a tool-well enclosure.

On a side note, the construction of this thing is AMAZING. The sub can be disassembled it 1 part breaks, and you can get just that 1 part replaced. You dont have to send the entire sub back to BA. Also, the magnet size is larger than most subs in its price range (at least when I was shopping a year or so ago). The linear excursion is also quite good.
<------ There is a pic of it in my trunk.

When I was shopping I was considering:

1) Alphasonik 800D series 10"
2) JL 10W6v2
3) Alpine Type R DVC 10"

The G5 subs are very nice. I build a box for one awhile back and it pounded. Just make sure you put it in the right size box for it I can build you a box for it if you'd like. Just shoot me a PM and we'll figure it out.

I had to fill mine about .25 CF with 2x4 scraps.
