I'm more worried about protecting what I have inside the car (stereo, seats, etc.).

If it's stolen on a flatbed truck, I'm S.O.L.

Compustar? I'll have to look into it.

The local shops carry Viper, Clifford, Autopage?, and a couple others along those lines.

Cool.

I like Viper as well.

I've had others and wasn't impressed. I'm also curious about this "autopage" alarm.

Will do!!!

I doubt I'll get any "during" the installation process, as it will be with my friend while I'm at work, but I'll at least get pics when it's all said and done.

****NOTE: PLEASE DON'T HATE ME!!****

Okay, I talked to some of the online places that sell the above-mentioned products. Since they are not authorized, many of them have to order the stuff from the manufacturer. Also, many of them don't have all the stuff in stock (they said they did, but when talking to the warehouse, they did not), which means it could take a while for them to get everything (if at all) and have it shipped.

Also, because I'm worried about buying authorized equipment, I wanted to work with one of my local shops to get this stuff for a good price and still have a good quality system.

I had my friend work with me on pricing, but they weren't able to get everything I wanted, so I made a few changes.

1) I decided to go with the Clarion 745. The Alpine is also nice, but for the value, this one works out, and it's AUTHORIZED and warrantied through the stereo shop. I like it, and to me, I can't go wrong with either deck.

2) Rather than getting the Alphasonik, I'm going to try out the Memphis Baby Belle. They will bridge four channels on my mids and highs for 150x2, and I'll have 400w on my sub.

NOTE: I still have the option of doing the JL 500/5 instead of the Memphis Belle, but they said the Memphis is actually a higher-quality amp and will sound better. Any recommendations/suggestions?

3) I'm still going with the Eclipse 10" aluminum sub with custom enclosure in the tool well.

4) I decided to go with the Focal KP's to save a little money.

They said that if I'm not happy with anything, they will change anything I want. But they believe this will be a good setup for what I'm trying to accomplish.

I'm happy with this setup. I know many of you are not big on Memphis, but I have heard them, and they seem highly recommended, and it'll power my whole system and take up less space.

So please don't hate me. I did want to go with the recommended set up, but to me, getting the stuff from an authorized dealer and having it all warrantied was an issue for me that I've battled with for the last several days. I'd rather pay a little more in the pricing of the components and know that it's authorized and warrantied through the shop. So if something goes wrong, they will replace it, no questions asked.

I believe this will be a good setup. I will take photos and let you know how it all sounds. If I'm not happy, you can say, "I told you so!" and kick me in the ass!

The car goes in the shop tomorrow, so I'll either have it back tomorrow night or Wed. They asked me to leave it overnight so they can be sure it's tuned properly and the job is not rushed.

All work will be done by my friend Brian (the one who has done awesome work for me in the past). So I know he'll tune it perfectly.

I truly appreciate everyone's help and all the information on this thread! Not only did I learn a ton, but it has been enjoyable getting everyone's feedback, opinions and ideas.

So wish me luck! I'll let you know how it sounds!

If you have any last minute suggestions, let me know!

THANKS AGAIN!

Nate

Not a problem buddy, whatever makes you happy.

2 things...

Is this a 6 channel amp?

If not, how can you bridge the front for 150x2 AND get 400x1 for the sub???

Also, just because a shop sells something, doesnt mean they are authorized....so make sure.!!!

Good luck, and post pics!

The Memphis is 75x4 and 400x1.

They said they could put all four channels to the mids and highs for 150x2.

Does that seem right?

I did check with the shop to see if they were authorized for everything they carry! They can get "unauthorized" stuff, but the above is what they do carry and are authorized for, so I'm safe there.

Now that I'm so close to doing it, I'm beginning to wonder if I should: A) Go with the Memphis Baby Belle or JL Audio 500/5 and B) Go with the Eclipse 10" sub or JL stealthbox or 10" Treo.

I'm totally for the Clarion HU and Focal KP's. It's just those other two that I wonder about.

Other amp choices at this time include the recently-mentioned Audison or Kicker.

I just read about this amp...it seems VERY wrong for your setup....

First of all...its

55W x 2 @ 4ohms + 100x1
75W x 2 @ 2ohms + 200x1

1ohm---->400.1 ONLY

This is def. not the best amp for your setup, not to mention money. The best I found if $439.99

I would, without question, get the Alphasonik over this amp.

As far as 5 channel amps go, there is no need....the JL 500.5 doesnt even put out the wattage of the Alpha. It it makes your feel any better, I just ordered a sub for myself, and the amp you were gonna get for my friend from acaraudio.com

They told me that they have replace amps three times in the time they sold them...about 6 years. They said they replace any Alphasonik gear if something goes wrong.
