Wow, looks to complicated and too involved.
In order to retro the AP2 LEDs, I've noticed you'll have to open up the entire AP1 taillight cluster so you can be able to insert the lens and be able to hold the LEDs in place. With some elbow grease and ingenuity, I see it's very possible, you'll just probably lose the marker lights on the side.

Where can I purchase the LED module? Is it plug and play ?

As for taking the light fixture apart, is it the same process as clearing the headlights?

Any help will be appreciated!!!!
You can't just purchase the LED module, you'll have to find a wrecked AP2 or broken AP2 taillight and cut it out. This one came out of a broken one.

PJK3, don't wast your money on the 32 leds. Check out my post about a page back, you'll see the difference.
*nods*

i went back and looked at that thread (i must have missed the linkage earlier), and i'm glad i didn't get the 32 LED version. i am also convinced that the 15 is brighter.

neither is as bright as the traditional bulb tho.

I'm not sure now. i wanna make sure that it's brighter than the oem's.
Sarek -- they are not brighter than OEM. if you really want, i can put one of the OEM's back in and compare. they have been good enough that i can comfortably back up with them in the dark w/o not seeing where i'm going.

and John,
i haven't forgotten. i'm still going to take a picture and post it of the amber front side markers.

that would be great.
btw, I was following a IS250 the other night and it still seems that their LEDs are brighter than my "matrix" maybe I should get the other "brighter/whiter" nova ones that pikkashoe got..

Sarek,

The IS and GS have two bulbs, compared to our one bulb, so that is why the effect is so pronounced on their vehicle. But getting the bulb I got will make it look just like the Lexus license plate lamps. The matrix is just not strong enough.

Get this one -

Super Star $6.99

Since we are on the subject of light bulbs, my lt brakelight seems to have blown, it works fine when just the lights are on, but when you hit the brakes, it does not light up.

Does anyone know if this bulb can be picked up at any autoparts store. If so what model is it?

John, here are some pics of the Amber front LED. i have clear USDM diffusers. (and yes, the car (and thus headlight lenses) is quite dirty... no comments. )

Amber LED from side, no headlights

Amber LED from side, headlights on

Amber LED looking head on

Sarek,
well bud, you owe me a center push pin trunk clip. i ended up breaking one going back in... it's pretty chilly here though (for Lousiana anyway... low 50's ), so you can blame the cold for making the plastic brittle.

this was shot in the exact same place w/ the exact same exposure.
as you can see, the OEM bulb is notably brighter. i really like the look of the LEDs, but not surprisingly, it is dimmer.

I still love the Lexus lights but right now I think mine is setup in such a way that it's actually as bright as the Lexus lights

I'll have my brother park his GS next to my car tonight and see if we can take some pics......
