How does the spring go in????

 

bump....when I took out my 03 door to put in a new door the spring popped out...so I couldn't see how it was supposed to go back in...now after trying for about 30 min to get in "correctly" so the door will automatically fall down, I have given up.


Does ANYONE have a picture of the spring installed?

 

i'm sure you have figured this out by now but the spring can only go one way. the inside leg goes against the door itself the outside leg goes against the vent assembly. I stripped a piece of wire and put the stripped plastic coating on the spring to extend it and make it easier to keep it in place while I moved the door to it's seated position. I left the cover on the wire until I got the pins in a little but and then removed it so that the leg would land in the right place on the vent assembly
