Thanks to X-Savior's advice on the thread reviewing the Perfects below, I decided to mess with the EQ on my head unit some more.

WOW!

I was missing so many of the features of this head unit. Once I got into the depths of its DSP, I found the sweet spot for the Infinities. Now I have perfect bass response and an amazing soundstage.

where did you get the clarion head unit at and can you still use the remotes on the left side of the steering wheel. how much was the unit if you don't mind me asking?

 

I got it at Crutchfield for about $700 (I think). I didn't bother to try to keep the dash controls because I never liked them anyway. If you want to keep those, just get Pinky's mod (PM or email user named Pinky on this board) and he can set you up.

This head unit is pretty remarkable. The LCD is kind of lame (dithered graphics, mandatory ugly backgrounds, slow refresh on animated visualizer), but the sound is great.
