Default Component install w/ factory radio

Quick question- I just picked up a pair of infinity components ($15 on craigslist) to replace my blown factory speakers and was considering 2 wiring options.

1) just run off the front factory speaker outputs w/ the crossover
2) Run the highs off the fronts w/ the crossover, and connect the mid to the unused rear input straight from the radio without a crossover.

Any input would be appreciated... I'm not an audiophile, just want the best sound i can get out of what i have.

Thanks

I would think option 1 as a component system was made to run with the crossover in place to get the correct separation. I can see option 2 working as well to maybe get more power to both. For a $15 dollar set, I would just experiment trying option 2 first and see what you prefer.

#1. If you want more power, replace the OEM HU &/or install an amp.

Yeah, from what I understand, the weakness of stock sound is more in the lack of power of the HU than the quality of the factory speakers.

not that it matters but I just replaced my HU and the sound difference and clarity is night and day. Even with the top down doin 75mph sound can still be clearly heard.
