do Alpine HU need a dedicated power line?

Default do Alpine HU need a dedicated power line?

do I need to run a dedicated power line to the alpine HU? or just use the factory hardness?

Some of the older alpine HU's with the V-Drive amps do require a fused line directly ran to the HU. Otherwise, no.

Correct, and this was only due to the fact that the Vdrive amps were more powerful, and had a thicker gauge wire. Alpine didn't want you to fry the OEM wiring, so they recommended a thicker wire fused and run independently.
