Like PJ, I have a DEI system (Viper 791) and I just ordered the prox for it.
Yes it can be a annoying. I have adjusted mine 3 times and the installer recommended disconnecting it (not what he said when he sold it to me). Seems to be O.K. now. I will set mine on silent if I am going to be right back (I will get the message through my fob that the sensor has gone off). Cost me $100 and yes I would do it again - especially if u leave the top down.

a GOOD installation shop will roll you out the door the first time with it right, and you MAY need to go back for a tweak or two. while i've installed other alarms, this was my first prox, which is probably why it took me a while to get it right.
now? i can leave the top down w/ a good bit of confidence when i know i'll be in reasonable distance.
