Does alpine 9857 work with NEW Ipod (classic)?
well, i do notice that with ipod classic, it no longer displays the ALPINE logo when connected... also the backlight always stays on (dont know if its the same with old ipod)
after the deck is turned off, ipod stays on and paused (dont remember if old one shut off?)

my experience with this is that yes it works somewhat normally compared to 5G iPod,
However as smurf said, no Alpine logo, also mine has been playing songs as usual (one track after another...i keep mine on shuffle), but the track ID sometimes stays with the previous song while the next track plays. Hitting the "track up" button simply changes the track ID to the currently playing song, but does not change the song (unles of course you hit it 2 times) which to me is starting to get annoying. Id like to say thanks to the a$$hole that stole my 60GB, whereever the hell you are
