Default Does everyone replace stock wiring?

I am installing a set of Polk db6501's and was wondering if I need to replace current speaker wiring in the car or is it fine?

if your using the stock radio it's not going to make that much of a difference... aftermarket or an amp go for it... its so easy and your right there anyways.

Im replacing the stock hu with a alpine 9885, I tried searching the forums.. you have to snake the wire through some tubes? What kind of wires would you recommend with a alpine hu.

Any good brand of wires would be good, use 4 conductor , might also be called Bi-Wire, if you only want to run one set of wires to each door. I used monster 300 series wire. Also, when snaking through the door the easiest way for me was to use a hanger and stick it through the rubber tube/gromet going into the car. From the inside of the car reach your hand into the little hole form inside the car on each foot well and feel for the hanger. Once you feel it you can just use a hoby knife to make a cut at the hanger. Then you can tape the wire to the hanger and pull it through. You don't have to remove the electrical tape and dont forget to use wire lube, It's $6 for a huge bottle at HD.

personally I wouldn't bother upgrading the wires unless I was installing
an amp (in which case you need to run at least some wire anyway, so
you might as well go all the way to the doors).

most accurate technical piece of advice here.

you can install better wiring to take greater load from an amp pushing the speakers. if you don't intend to use an external amplifier for the speakers, you're unlikely to exceed the capacity of the original wiring.

and as a side note, even if you did manage to exceed the capacity of the original wiring, you'd need to ensure the speaker wasn't distorting and was correctly mounted first.. hence falling at another hurdle prior to wiring.

No plans to use an amp here guess I'll just stick with stock, not confident enough to go abouts and change wiring lol
