Do you have some sort of aftermarket alarm? I wonder if someone "borrowed" the dome light
wire for the alarm? If they did, probably at the keyless control unit or it's gray/white
18-pin connector, both under the far left side of the dash above the hood release - the
green/yellow wire.
So I crawled up under the driver's dash upside on my head - fun for 6'1". I didn't see anything that looked out of place or "add-on". I can certainly shoot some pics because I don't know what I am looking.

Now - for the light itself. I have the unit off and I have my multimeter set to ohms. But how do I ready the above diagram? Where do I touch the probes to test the different positions? Do I have to move the switch and push the buttons and then touch various places?

Give me a house outlet any day!

Found the issue... on this site. I was actually googling how to test continuity on a car dome light and found a link to this S2KI thread:

S2KI post light issue

Apparently, the S2K dome light switch is prone to corrosion. I took it apart, used Q-tips and vinegar and cleaned it up.

Works like a charm.

Thanks for the help.
