db, you should read the thread on stiffening caps... he's a barrel of joy in that one.

Phil, since my relocation last month I haven't had an opportunity to copy the pages over to my new ISP. I dread figuring out the new password scheme, server names, etc. You'd think these guys would make it easy at leat once in my life... I have to give BellSouth props though, fastest DSL I've ever worked on.

thanks Dan.... just let me know please if you don't mind, as the old links are still in the FAQ, and i'd like to update them when you're ready.

John, ack... IP bans are easily broken most times, as most cable modem and DSL providers will auto assign a new IP.

He'll have to use a program to get around it. Which he'll have to buy... unless he downloads one for free. I doubt he'll come back...(crosses-fingers)

I think what Phil was trying to say is that you can call your ISP and request a new IP be assigned... they flip a bit, as it were, and you're back in action. It certainly makes morons like Shifty harder to get rid of... but we'll be hopeful.

thankfully, some games now tie a user id into a CD key, and you can do bans on those user id numbers. but that doesn't help us here...
Well, that brings us back to discussions of using VIN #s to identify people, only allowing newbies who have passed a grace period to enter certain forums, etc. It's all fraught with "what ifs" and special cases, but I think it solves more problems than it would cause.

...but I'm not about to go down that road... I'm staying quiet as a church mouse these days...
