I have Infinity Kappa components . One thing to keep in mind though is that S2K is a convertible and spending on high-end stuff is a bit much IMO. Cabin is too noisy. I found the kappa components perfectly fit the need. clean, powerful (can handle my 90 watt RMS amp comfortably), and cheap ($150~180 if u shop around the net).

getting a larger magnet is well worth the sound investment of cutting the speaker basket. IMHO.

I got polk audio dx 6 and 1/2.s You have to use the included speaker covers or aftermarket spacers when you install them, or the window hits the magnet, but otherwise they are drop in and sound great.

I'm back, as promised/threatened. The Polk EX 3560s sound great but anyone considering getting them please note that the tweeters don't just slot inside the S2000 2002 tweeter cage. You need to reduce the size of the Polk tweeters first by prying off all the plastic casing (not cutting - you can actually pry off layer by layer without destroying anything) and work from there. Then reuse the metal 3-screw connector that comes with the OEM tweeters (more prying!).

I won't go into details, PM me if you want to know how I did it. I might post pics if enough enquiries pop up.

BUT... they sound great! Which is the main thing!!

I have not had time to order the stuff for my car yet. Still have not made a decision on the speakers. How hard was it to pry the plastic off the tweeters. Any problems with fitting the 6.5's in? Did you use an amp to power them and if so what type and where did you mount it? George

George, yes I will be installing an amp in good time. But for the moment it is speakers only. The prying off of the plastic bits from the tweeters is very easy. I used a paint scraper (?!) - the only flat thing I could find at the time! I got frustrated at first, because the damn things just didn't fit. So I tried cutting a groove so they'd fit the screw pillars, but whilst cutting these grooves, I noticed that the Polk tweeters were actually modular and not molded at all, so prying began...

And the 6.5 inches fit perfectly. As a few ppl here said, you need to use the original speaker baskets and cut off the back part, so what you're left with is basically a donut, or ring, rather than a basket.
