Hi,

Have an S2000, silverstone 2001 model (built 2000) - Everytime the auto switch is used to fully up the window, it automatically comes back down (half-way) as soon as it reaches the top.

I can 'manually' keep my finger on the up button and let go as soon as it reaches the top which will work ok. Funny enough when I use the auto up while it's all the way up, it does seem to come back down as mentioned. The only thing I can think of that triggers the 'down' movement is the roof openning.

My Honda dealer has replaced the main door switch (1st repair) but this only lasted for a day ro so before the problem ocurred again. On the 2nd repair visit, they were confident that the replacement of the window motor should do the trick. This lasted for about a week before the same problem again. They are currently looking into it again.

I did get a Boomerang (Korean) alarm installed (with paging, engine start, window lift, etc) as soon as I got the car which has created some uncertainty as to whether this (window lift ?) may be causing the whole problem.

Any ideas / advice ???

That is one reason I got the dealer installed Honda alarm. I know it is not as sophisticated as many, but it means I have one less shop to go to for repairs.

It is too bad that the removed parts were not tested to see if they were any good.

Can the Boomerang folk help you find out if the alarm might be a problem?

I do know that the window motors/switches are one of the top two complaints about the S2000. The other is how fast the tires wear out.

Thanks Barry, I was asked to put in the 'Honda' alarm but elected to go with the Boomerang, and you are right, for its many other features. A friend of mine had it in his WRX well before me and it seem to work fine. I agree that the WRX probably isn't as complicated (electronically) as the S2K.

In re parts, the dealer did tell me (2nd time in) that the motor was the problem...assuming that they did test it. You never know with these guys sometimes.

Thanks,
Tim.
