Completed my audio install and finding sub very loud from outside the car -JL stealthbox. (quite happy with sound in car)

Will installing dynamat on the inside of the trunk lid cut down on the bass felt outside the car and will it impact inside car sound? In other words is it worth the $$$ ?

I don't have a vibration issue, simply would like to cut down on the bass heard outside the car. Standing outside my car with the music playing at a reasonable albeit somewhat loud level, I thougt to myself: "Wow, this is what I sound like to others!" I don't want that kind of attention...

Seems like an expensive way to do it, but if it helps, would be worth it.

 

pLease post some pics if you can, I'm going to dynamat my doors on my audio install this week and haven't decieded on the trunk yet,

would love to know where and what $$ you got the stealth box as it's something I'm considering, but not sold on yet..

I got the stealth box (JL Audio) at Tweeters in Boston for msrp of $600 (US). Found one in Irvine for $525, but too complicated to get it out here.

I am loving the setup -stealthbox, 9851 HU, MB Q reference door speakers (tweeters set at -4), honda headrest speakers and Alpine F375 amp. I can actually listen to quality music at high way speeds with top dopown/open windows! Yay! Never mind around town! Sounds wonderful! Just want to attract a lil less attention...

Had the doors dynamated for MB Q speakers, that I think was totally worth it. Trunk will be done Friday, I'll post pics np.
