I think that has been solved by other owners by using an eraser or something else rubber-like as a small wedge between the tray and the roll hoop area. I may try a sliver of bike inner tube when I refit my roof tray later this week.

Yeah ,

Dave used a match stick between the gap.. I am going to try that tonight, but I suspect the vibration is coming more from the rear of the tray.
