interesting item of note --

in the latest issue of Mobile Entertainment, the e12a.22 was reviewed and received VERY high marks.... for those who aren't in the know, this is the e8a.44's bigger brother...

i'd post exerpts from the article, but i didn't buy the magazine... just read the review while standing in the store... as far as i can tell, the review has not been put online yet.

generally speaking, i think around 300Wrms is suggested. i the max is 450Wrms. i'm putting somewhere around 450Wrms into it, and it does very well. but it clearly doesn't need that much power to perform. more importantly, the e8a.44 is a 4 ohm dual voice coil sub -- so, you'll need an amp that is 2 ohm stable (2 4 ohm voice coils in parallel = 2 ohm load) and outputs in the 300+Wrms range at that load.

according to the ED website: "Recommended Power Range : 200/450 watts"

one of the guys that helped design it says 200 is more fine, so don't be worried if you can't give it more then that. i think 300 is a sweet spot, but like Phillip I'm giving mine about 450 and it is very loud. i think a normal person would be fine with 300!

they are still available, actually on sale for $145 according to their website.

i'm still wondering if we couldn't do something using standoffs and a flat portion of .5" plexi or something... thoughts?
