I'm right by palisades mall in rockland, but I'm in westchester and the bronx alot too. But I was planning on bringing it to a audio shop so they could do it, I just wanted to relay any of these tips to them in order to have a clean install. I also just wanted to find out what other people thought about $250 price for install (way to high, about right, average)?? I thought the unit came with everything needed but I'm guessing that the $250 includes required wires?? I basically wanted to know if they charged so much just for the install or is there any required wires or wiring that he's including in his price. I forgot to ask. I know they aren't the only place to go to but I've been there before for another car and they did a good clean job that I was happy with.

If you want to drive out to queens, Ill do it for you for half that price. That unit does have a bit of extra work, but no issues with the wires. Thats BS. I have more wires behind my radio than almost anyone, and I have no issues.

(3 rcas, 2 Ai Net Cables, Fullspeed cable, Dci, etc)

The JVC fits fine, there are plenty of posts about how to install it.

The wires on it aren't buch of a problem. Just have to manage them correctly.

As for a "lip"...I'm not sure what you mean. The faceplate is about .75" thick, and the clearance is tight, but if you mount it correctly, it will function and the radio door will still close with it in the off (position 1) position.

The screen is easily viewable in all but direct sunlight (and in direct sunlight you should have the radio door closed to protect the display) and, while small, it's easy to watch a movie on from a normal reclined position (my girl watched a couple of movies on it when we went down to FL earlier this year).

I finally have it installed and I love it. It fits great even thought the radio door doesn't close when the faceplate is on. The color is great, clear sound, and overall really good looking. All my friends who have the pop-out tv's which are bigger and they like mine better. But anyways thanks to everyone for the helpful advice and tips on installing. I would reccomend this unit to anyone. It looks like it came from the factory w/ this unit.
