Fabricating Console for Speakers
I'm going to need some experts in this discussion regarding dimensions, speakers, and the fabricating process.
I was comptemplating on how I would do my setup, whether I would do the JVC sub under the seat and S-pods, just the S-pods, or just front speakers and a headunit. After awhile of thinking, I came with the idea of making an enclosure for a 5 to 6 inch sub out of the secret compartment and a coaxial speaker enclosure out of the center console. I figure that this would be a fairly effective setup considering the amount of room available.
Regarding the fabrication process:
I've built a center console for the Prelude when I put in a mini-itx computer in the past, so I'm familiar with fiberglass fabrications. However, I did everything by hand and was wondering if there were some tools out there to make the process easier and quicker. On top of that I was curious at what dimensions I need to make the encolsure to get the best sound. I haven't chosen any speakers or headunit yet so I'm open to options. Although I would preferably have something that is cost effective and requires the least amount of room.
Thanks again for your input!

For the underseat sub.... a cutting torch would probably help. Absolutely no clearance for any sort of box + sub. Max clearance I think is around 1.75", but its no where near the diameter needed for a sub (and still allow the seat pan full range of motion).
Check the install pics thread at the top of the forum.
As far as the rest goes, get rid of the stock speakers and head unit ASAP.

Lol, I've read about a JVC sub that fits perfectly under the seat. Its not large but it will suffice. (I'm not looking for anything large anyways)
As for the speakers and headunit, I agree, however the front speakers and headunit isnt the problem exactly. Its the speaker for the center console install and the secret compartment install, both of which will be fabricated to fit. And my concern is finding a small sub that will function well with the small space available in the secret compartment and a coaxial speaker that will deliver clear mid-range in the center console.
The JVC sub I mentioned isn't the direction I'm going.

there are a number of sub installs in the center console + secret compartment, check the stereo install thread up top...
