Got my stereo upgraded this yesterday
Had a pair of Focal 6.5" components put in powered by a Lunar 60X2 amp. I am still running off of the OEM head unit... and hmm I really need to aget a new one... I don't like the OEM unit + line converter.
The speakers are pretty bright... titanium tweets... but the good news is that once they break in, should sound a lot smoother. The components have good tight mid bass and actually play pretty low. The amp's high pass, which is adjustable, is set at I think 52Hz for now...
How does it sound? A lot better, with only 2 notch on the radio, I can hear clean sound over the outside noise at 75mph. Any volume higher than that hurts my ears... still very clean sound.
The basket had to be taken out completely. A new mounting ring was created. The tweets were placed in the A-pillar.

Got it done at a local car audio shop that I've delt with for years now.
The whole thing including parts and labor was right around $900. The a-pillar install really isn't that much more difficult, infact I think its' easier than a door install on this particular car. I suspect that any decent shop could do it for a good price.
Please note that the above price includes good discounts on the parts.
