I want to use the direct-wire power adapter. According to the V-1 owners manual, I need a 12 volt switched wire and a negative ground. I know where to find the negative ground, but would really appreciate some guidance on the 12 volt switched wire. Many thanks in advance for the help.

Additionally, to those that have done this, did you take the a pillar trim cover off to do this or just feed it through the opening (if thats even possible) thanks again.

the a-pillar snaps off and snaps back on quite easily - its not too destructive.

btw, more hardwiring answers were posted in this thread in the car talk forum.

I used loki's wiring choice. It was perfect. The only thing I did differently is that I ran the V1 wire under the windshield frame trim rather than within the windshield frame rubber strip. Wade at Valley Motor Honda and I had the trim off for the hardtop installation.

I omitted the V1's remote for now. I like the V1 just to the right of the rear view mirror.
