Has anybody installed an amp NEXT to the spare tire?

I have a JL 300/4 over the fuel tank like in Modifry's photo. It has had no heat problems and I love the stealth look.

^ IMO this is the best way place to mount it....if your amp isn't too big.

Hi: I'm also interseted in mounting electronics in this area. Last year I was e-mailing with another ham who had part of his transceiver mounted in this area. He was holding it in place with big magnets. Just how much headroom is there in the area? I kind of envision a rack with a pull out shelf to change equipment. Are there any more pictures?

My 5-channel Alpine is over the fuel filler as well. No problems, plus its not 'bolted' to anything so if you need to yank it out for an adjustment its easy as pie.

I've had this setup since 2001.
