I guess instead of starting another thread, I'll just add to this existing thread for head unit suggestion.

I need my new head unit to satisfy these 4 criteria:
1) Compatible with Modifry's DCI so I can retain factory controls:
2) Minimum 1.5a of USB output, cigarette lighter is dead so this will by my only way to charge my phone
3) Factory door WILL close
4) Bluetooth
Optional: Built-in amp will be awesome

Thank you all for your time. Alpine UTE-62BT seems extremely popular, I'm just not sure if it has a 1.5a USB out port. (Crutchfield isn't too clear on that model)

Built in amp (as in more than the typical 18w x 4 RMS and requiring additional power wire) means Sony MEX-XB120BT.

Thank you!

Is there a non-CD player alternative to it? (It's just going to be wasted space)

Nope, looks like only that and the MEX-GS820BT and both have CD players. That said, if you're going with a 2 speaker setup the KTP-445 can be bridged to get 90W RMS per channel.

Maybe contact Alpine to see if ANY of their head units have more than 1.1 amp USB. I don't think it's sold anymore but I can tell you that the 143BT is NOT 1.1 amp. I wish it were. Based on the description of the different units on their website, I'm not too hopeful any of them are but I hope I'm wrong.

How about the very popular UTE62BT? I have a hard time hunting down the exact power output on the USB port. Thank you.

I'm a big fan of Sony's products. However, $200 is a bit steep, especially if it that price has a feature built-in that I will not use, ever (CD Player).

But if I need to compromise, I guess I will have to.

Doesn't look like any of the current Alpine head units do more than 1A through USB. So far I've only seen Sony and Kenwood units do 1.5A, but not from Alpine and Pioneer (I could still be wrong though).

Says 1A in the Details tab.

Edit: Kenwood KMM-BT322U meets your criteria and doesn't have a CD player and runs cheaper than the UTE62BT. Haven't used it myself (only much earlier Kenwood products).

Thank you! (You'd think they would put that in the specs sheet but nooooooo, let's bury "1A" in an essay!)

Thank you. This may be it! Appreciate the find
