HELP! HU not working
So I just put in a 'new' used HU that I bought from a fellow s2ki member. Put it in last week and it worked fine. I left the car sitting for a couple of days and when I first got into the car today, I noticed that it was not working. No lights, no CD eject, nothing.
I checked the wiring, everything seems fine, I suspected it was the fuse, but the plug that goes to the back of the HU is getting ACC, +12V. 12V outlet was also fine so I guess it's not fuse issue. Also checked the fuse on the back of the HU, looks ok and even tried swapping it. Nothing.
I'm out of ideas, but what else can be wrong? I mean the HU was working last time I was in the car, and today it's just dead? I'm really lost..

Dont know if you used any wiring adaptors to twist wires together(hardwired?), but make sure none are "too" large and all connections are good. Try and use the proper size adaptors and see if this helps. I had a similar problem with mine, switched out a few of them, no more problem. If you are using a honda adaptor....might be a different problem.
yellow on the aftermarket radio should be getting 12v constant , red should be getting 12v when you turn the car on , then black should be ground. Check all 3 of those. if there good , check the fuse that's on the radio - might not be there depending on manufacture. If all is good your radio is bad :-/

The harness seems to be getting both.
The only thing I can think of is that the harness is getting a bad contact with the HU, or the ground is bad. I'll give it another check today..

the only thing that puzzles me is how it was working the other day and then just dead all of a sudden. I mean, just nothing, no noise no lights, absolutely nothing.
he means a wiring hareness... if you used a wiring harness everything should be fine... if you cut the wires you should check to make sure everything is correct , and also make sure everything is taped good so that a wire isn't sticking out touching anything. check all your fuses inside the car too.
Any fuses I need to check besides the "Radio" fuse under the dash and the ACC fuse? (Is the ACC fuse under the hood?)
Actually, I didn't bother checking the ACC fuse since I tried plugging in a radar detector and the 12v outlet was working. I also measured the harness with a multimeter..
As a side question, Can the fuse be bad and let a certain (lower) voltage still pass through? Low so that it's not enough to power the HU, but still present a voltage reading at the harness.
