HU turns off and back on
Hi all,
I have an issue that I'm dealing with and my HU turns off by itself and turns back on to the same point it was playing. Sometimes it can happen 20 times in a row and other times it happens a few times. Anybody know what could be wrong?
The HU is an apline cda-9813 motorized face.
I have polk speakers in the doors. 2 amps in the trunk for front speakers and one for the sub.
Thanks

Aliens.
Or, maybe a bad connection. Does the HU have an in-line fuse holder? They frequently go bad. If not, check the fuse in the back of the HU, make sure it's tight, pull it out and back in a couple times. Same for the fuses in the under-dash fuse box, fuse 9 10 amps, fuse 22 15 amps.
Suggestion - plug something into the accessory power socket that will be obvious if it has power or not, and see if it goes on and off along with the HU. If not, then the issue is with the HU or its wiring harness. If the socket power goes out along with the HU, then it's something in the car's wiring. Either the fuses or a bad connection in the under-dash fuse box or perhaps the "accessory power relay", which is up under the dash to the right of the steering column. There are two small relays mounted together, it's the one towards the front of the car. There is a metal tab holing those two relays that is mounted with a 10mm-head bolt. Try whacking the relay next time it does it.
But I'm betting on aliens.
