Help - Kenwood Head Unit Install Problems
Hi All
This is my first post to the forum, and I apologise if this has been asked before (I have searched for an answer...)
I tried to change the stock head unit on my AP1 so I can use my iPod. I bought a Kenwood U333 (I live in Japan) and tried to install it, although I'm a complete newb at this. The harness has standard wiring - Yellow (Battery), Red (ACC), Black (Ground), Brown (Mute).
However, the S2000 wiring is different. I found a wiring diagram and connected the Ground, then the wht/blu s2000 wire to the Battery on the Kenwood harness. No illumination on head unit panel but I can load/eject CDs. According to the s2000 wiring diagram, the wht/red wire is the ACC wire, so I connected it to the Red (ACC) wire, but still nothing.
I haven't metered any wires yet but can anyone please advise what the correct color wire (s2000) is for the Kenwood ACC wire.
Cheers
Richard

The two wires you need on the S' wiring harness are pins #1 and #2. I believe pin #1 is the acc and pin #2 is the antenna amplifier.
The yellow line should/can be run all the way from the battery (or the underhood fuse panel) or black to one of the screws on the side of the HU (one of the ones that screw into the chassis, not just the plastic).

Thanks for the advice
Pin #2 is the ACC (wht/red) - I did have this connected to the h/u "ACC", at same time as having h/u "Battery" connected wht/blu S' Pin #10 (Constant Power), as well as Ground. Sorry for not having a clue, but where does the S' Pin #1Ant Amp connect to on the h/u as it only has, Batt, ACC, Mute, PCont (which the manual says is unused).
Thanks in advance
Richard

Well, let me put it this way:
On my 05, I have 2 wires off the HU into the stock wiring harness - pins 1 and 2. Those are my ACC and Ant pwr wires...
According to the manual, Pin 1 is Yel/Grn to the Antenna Amplifier and Pin 2 is White/Red from ACC. Sorry, my earlier post had those two backwards.
There should be a "remote" or antenna output off the HU - a blue wire. If there's not, you can jumper between the ACC and the antenna amplifier. This will mean the Antenna Amplifier is on any time the key is in the "Run" position.
What other wires does the HU have? An orange illumination? That should be spliced to the ACC or to the stock harness Pin 19.
