Default Help With Running Wires to the HU

Okay I have looked at many of the previous posts hence why I have gotten this far. I am installing a 5 channel amp, new HU, new components, and some bass shakers. But I am stuck now and this is the last part I have left to take apart to run the wires. I want to run the RCAs through the armrest portion.

I started doing it like this but one of the clips busted while I was removing it so I stopped and want to go back to my original plan.

This is from another member i know he ran them around the shifter but didn't say how he got them into the HU portion to be hidden. There is a very small hole by the bottom left of the shifter but I don't know how I would feed them to the back portion of the HU or even if all three RCAs would fit.

Here you can see he ran them over the top of the HU, but how did he hide them?

This has to be one of the toughest cars to work on audio. And for installing the components everyone keeps saying you have to cut a slit in the grommet from inside the car, the problem is I can't even reach in to get the cut in.

Please help this dummy

I would stick with doing them on the right side of the tunnel like in your first picture. If you are breaking clips then you are not using the correct tool to remove them. Go buy a clip removal tool and swing by the Honda dealer to pick up replacement clips for the ones that you broke.

Like you said, this car is hard enough to work on. Fishing the RCA's through the armrest will just make it even harder in the future, should you need to replace or upgrade them.

That's strange, I found the S one of the easier cars to put a stereo into. My one complaint would be the lack of room behind the HU for cables, other than that, wiring mine was a snap.

Try one of these to remove the clips. It's do-able by hand or with a screw driver but very easy to break the clips.

There are also less sharp edges that may cut the wire over time by the side of tranny tunnel than on top.

i actually ran my wires through the arm rest area from the trunk to the headunit. i thought it was pretty easy. Took me about an hour to hook up my entire car and put it back together. Having them go on the side of the console should be fine as well.
