Default Help on Viper 350

Alright so my alarm was working fine, then the other day it all of the sudden starts to go off without any provocation. About 1/2 of the time when I arm it, a few seconds later it chirps, which I know means that something is not closed, or where it should be etc.... Any ideas on why the alarm thinks there is something wrong, even when all the doors are closed, etc?

Thanks!

guessing a sensor is pooched or out of adjustment.

How many times does it chirp? That will tell you which zone is having the problem. Shock sensors and proximity sensors can go out of adjustment with environmental changes. What sensors are hooked up to it.

Do you have a motion sensor? If its not perfectly (or nearly) perpendicular to the ground, it will set off the alarm constantly - I just had to go and re-set my motion sensor as it came unsettled during a Sunday drive and started going off every 10 minutes or so once I armed the alarm.

it chirps once, then in prolly 5 minutes it will go ff, if not immediately. If it does not chirp even once, then it will usually last an hour or so before it goes off.

I have keyless entry and i assume a shock sensor hooked up. Also dome light supervision. I am not sure about door sensors. I did not install it myself because I would make a big mess of it if I did!

When you disarm the alarm - how many times does the parking lights flash? Also - after you disarm the LED should flash X times then repeat before you turn the key on.

they didnt hook up the parking lights to flash, and the LED flashes 3 times after disarm when the alarm had gone off.

The place I took it to used to be good, but now I know they have turned GETTO!

3 flashes = door triger

Now you know where to look. Must be an intermittent short/open situation since you are able to arm the alarm.

This will be a green wire coming from the alarm brain. It should be tapped into the black/white stripe wire on the keyless entry module under the dash - just left of the steering column.

Alternately they may have connected the green wire to each of the door pin switch wires - if they did this I would disconnect them and connect it directly to the keyless module.
