I have a set (I believe its the 3way setup that uses those components in addition to a 3" mid) in my Yaris and I love them. Plan to put the newest revision of them in the S whenever I get some throw away money. My Focal's in there now are tired.

I love them, I also have two 10" Energy Subs in the trunk. My car sounds awesome.

I've been looking at these recently. Do you know they've just launched the 4th revision, the 165.4. Seems to be a good upgrade over the 165.3.

They've also released an XL version which is very tempting but I think it's too deep by about 2mm with a standard 18mm MDF baffle. Can anyone else confirm?

Ap1 has them in the doors as well (tweets) in 02-03. In my opinion, the AP1 doors look better as well. Find someone on here parting a wrecked car and get the 02-03 door panels and then sell your old ones. Or find a hardcore racer who has removed their stereo system and switch door panels with them.

I have 00 so either way i was going to have to cut. I ended up cutting the tweets into the a-pillars. I think it ended up looking really sweet, and im sure is going to sound a lil better than the doors. I will post some pics when I get it all back together. Ive been working super long hours so not too much time to work on the car... and dynamat takes forever

i installed a set of these on my S i had to make custome mounting bracket out of (SMG, think thats wht its called) they sound great. i am currently running 75W RMS to ea. side (not enough poer by the way) these speakers need at least 150w of RMS for you to get great sound out of them. i will soon be replacing that amp with a diff amp to push 200w RMS to ea. side & thats when they will come alive.

the diff between the 165.4 & XL is that you need more power to make them sound like they should but the 165.4 sound better IMO i've listen to both. Do not seperate the component set in other words make sure you use the tweeter thats what makes this set amazing!

hope this helps this is one bad ass component set!
