[QUOTE=scottsheck,May 23 2007, 06:50 AM]You really need to check out the Blitsafe ipod interface, I've researched a lot of interfaces and this one is the simplest to install, use, and the least expensive.

I have a 2001 S200 with the stock stereo and I use the ICE link from Dension. It was a easy instal as it hooks directly into the Multi CD changer port on the back of the head unit. The only hassle was;
A) finding one. The newer ones are easier to find but eBay worked well enough.
B)finding a way to connect the cradle to the car. The cradle they ship with seems to be designed to fit into some other plastic bit but I was never able to find one.

I ended up buying another 3rd party unit that suction cups to the window and MacGyver 'd them together with a little bit of Dremel and a little bit of epoxy. Looks like they came together as a stock unit.

I'll post pictures if there's an interest.

Here's a link to someone who's selling on on Crag's List:

The official site. (I had problems loading it):

I heard the dension icelink only works with AP2 headunits. Is this not true?

I had an icelink in my bmw and I love it, i don't want to try a different brand.

I don't know what an AP2 headunit is. My 2001 S2000 has the stock radio that came with it and the icelink plugs into the plug in the back that would otherwise have the cd changer in it. I believe it's an either/or proposition. I never had the cd changer so it wasn't a choice for me.

I do know that the '03 models have a different plug and that's a different icelink unit. And easier to find one as I saw it at Best Buy and futureshop for cheap.

Jstar,

Here is one interface which lets you control the ipod from either the Ipod or radio controls, but it costs twice as much. Now with new radio head units that let you plug in your ipod, that is another option since they are getting cheaper.

Make sure whatever interface you get automatically turns on or off the ipod when you turn off the car. Having to take the extra step, at least for me, would be a pain. Possibly all ipod interfaces to do this though.

This ipod2car doesn't have the harness for my '06. It looks good though. I am still waiting to hear about the usa spec harness from one of the posters.
