Default How to Mount IPod in Glovebox?

Well I finally got my Pioneer HU and Ipod adaptor hooked up and everything is playing nicely together with the Modifry DCI. I want to run my Ipod cable through the glove box so that I can keep the Ipod hidden. I remember seeing some posts earlier about where to drill the hole in the glove box to run the wire through but cannot seem to find it anymore.

Can someone please help me with this information. Do you have to completely remove the glovebox to do this modification? If so, what needs to be removed prior to getting to the glovebox? Where does the hole go in the glovebox and what size?

Any and all help would be mightly appreciated.

I ran the cable under the lip on the center console, then pulled off the back panels, and fished it through to the glove box, where I put a small hole in the back bottom right corner. I then put my ipod in the glove box door, under the elastic band.

I also use a Ijet to control the ipod. Very cool device!!

You don't even need to drill. My cable fit through the hinge opening at the bottom of the glovebox door. iPod goes under the strap and it's soup.

I have the same basic setup, with the iPod controller under the passenger seat and the iPod itself in the "secret" compartment. I tend to leave it in the car for days at a time and thought this would be the most stealthy. Plus, it's very easy to get to the bottom of the compartment from the trunk area for wiring. I just made a simple pedestal for the iPod to sit on.

dont need to cut anything, there is plenty, i mean PLENTY of room in the hinge area to fish cables through.

I did this last year, works great

I drilled a hole in the bottom of the secret compartment, cut a piece of carpet that matches the other compartment, cust a cross in that and fed the wire through. I used marine vecro with an ipod case and just stuck it to the wall of the compartment. I have autocrossed the car with the ipod inplace and never had a problem.
