Hello I just recently bought my ap2 last week! Once i put in my alpine cde-122 head-unit will the audio control panel on the driver side of the steering wheel still work? I heard that the switch will stop working, also do i really have to take the center console off when i install my headunit?? Thanks Alot guys.

 

You need a DCI if you want to retain the use of the audio controls with an aftermarket head unit. Modifry's is always highly recommended (though the DCI section was removed from the FAQ in this subforum for some reason). I'd suggest getting Modifry's Alpine PnP harness while you're at it.

You will need to remove the center console to install your head unit. Look for the DIY AP2 head unit thread (though last I checked the photos weren't working).
