Default Instructions on how to remove trink liner?

Going to do a sub amp install this weekend, and I probanly need to remove trunk liner to hide wires. I've heard its a bitch to take out. Does anyone have pictures or instructions on how to best remove the trunk liner? Thanks!

don't have pictures, but if you just pull all the clips it comes out pretty easy... it's awkward due to size, but fairly light.

Would y'all recommend putting dynamat throughout the trunk for a Elemental Designs 10A sub powered by a Phoenix Gold 600Ti? I'm thinking it wouldn't be such a bad idea. It might help with preventing the rattles. I've looked hard a D'knight's set up and dynamatting the trunk might be a good idea with a potentially bass heavy sub.

What's probably the toughest part is getting all those clips out without breaking any of them. I went out and grabbed an interior trim panel popper and that made the job so much easier. It lets you evenly apply pressure all around the clip when you pry it out. Using it is a no brainer, versus using a screwdriver where you have to be pretty careful and get that technique developed pretty well. I've popped just about every pannel in the car and only broke one clip.

I got something like this (costs $8.95 CDN - pretty much two broken clips will pay for it!):

^^Great call on the tool

Willie:
Yeah Dynamat is expensive but well worth it to keep the rattling. Don't forget to fill in the air vent in the bumper that thing will drive you crazy, behind the licence plate is a big one, and definatly do the trunk latch.

i highly recommend a clip popper... anything that helps prevent breaking those little clips is a good thing. especially in cold weather when those clips are brittle and shatter right away.

i did the flathead thing... i've long since paid for that tool.

D'Knight,

thanks for the input. How do we dynamat the trunk latch? And you've metioned this hole before, is it easy to find?

I got a better way to fix the trunk latch rattle.

Get either a long zip tie, or take two normal ones and double them (length)

Just take it and tightly wrap around the mechanism. Presto! rattle gone!
