Kudos on your install, looks great.

IMHO, however, it seems like a lot of trouble to go through, especially considering how much everything cost (

Where did you get the I cable from to do this install?

Also, i called alpine directly and was told that every 04' head unit from alpine is compatible with the Ipod connection, it is just a matter of waiting for the cable to come out to connect them together.

I went to the Apple Store to get the iCable. All the Apple Stores are laid out the same, so you'll find them in the back with the cables and printer accessories, across from the Genius Bar. The nearest Apple Store to you (I think) is in Farmington at the Westfarms Mall. Go to www.apple.com/retail to find the nearest one. There's a whole bunch, so you're bound to find one (Of course, I live in LA, and there are around 5 within a 20 mile radius from me).

I heard that Alpine will come out with yet another model in the summer to complement the iPod feature. I'm hoping I can save some $$ by buying a HU that already comes with the feature. I'm in no hurry since I have no $$ right now to buy anything anyway.

Thanks for the help, i'll have to go to a retail store, becasue online you have to buy the whole kit to get the i-cable, and its like $70.

Alpine guy swore to me that the head unit for the ipod will not be special, it is just a cable with a "brain" in it that sends the signal to ANY one of the 04' alpine headunits, but we'll see!
