IPod integration
I ordered the Ice-link Plus by Dension for my '05 S. Factory HU. The installation is pretty easy, especially after reading a lot of the postings on this site (thanks). When I got it all installed, I checked out the modes of controlling the IPod--both on the IPod and thru the HU. That all worked. Only problem--no sound. I tinkered with the Ice-Link setup, played with audio levels etc. Nothing worked. The IPod is definitely playing, but I am not getting any sound thru the HU.
Any else have this problem??

With the icelink it uses a line level connector at the bottom of the Ipod. What did you see when you plugged the ipod in? Did it tell you it was going into icelink mode?
Change to disc 6. You should get a menu option. If all else fails check your conections. The cd changer input on the icelink is hard to to get in. A very tight connection.
You may need to full the radio fuse.
If you give me more details I might be able to help..

I have a Connects2 interface coming shortly and will do a bit of a review.

OK. After I got the Thanksgiving guests out of the house I was able to pull my car apart and tinker some more with the Ice Link Plus. I also called the vendor and they kindly offered to swap out the unit.
The problem was actually simple. I had not connected the RCA connectors to the Ice Link. I assumed they were for interfacing to an HU that had RCA connectors. I plugged them in and boom--music. I felt stupid, but I am blaming it on the installation instructions, that are so lousy they are unusable.
So now. I have music from my iPod. I am very pleased with the Ice Plus. It works as advertised. I can select playlists or I can browse around in the iPod using the HU controls--while looking at the iPod display. I find the browsing to be a bit dangerous, so I don't do that unless I am parked.
I routed the cable underneath the the center console cover. I cut a slot in the slide box (located directly behind the shifter) and now I can slide the door open and access the iPod.
I am content with the controls and the sound. Better install instructions would have been nice, but it all worked out.

I'm glad to hear that. My first unit worked flawlassly for two month before it died. My second one worked for two weeks. Where did you place the IceLink unit? I believe (my theory only) is that its VERY susceptable to heat, both generated and from the car..
